I do not feel it is "good sportsmanship" to take a regional title due to an arrangement with the person in the king seat and then not even mention it when you are congratulated on a national board. I want to stress here, Zeke (because of the impersonality of the internet and the ease of which statements are taken in the worst possible way) that this is not something I hold against you. In fact, when the point came up amongst friends/players, all I said was that I was surprised you didn't mention it. I could believe that you honestly didn't really even think about it. Hell, for all I know maybe it wasn't even true. You've always seemed like a good and honorable guy the whole time I've known you. But my point is that I have not walked in your shoes, so I am not going to pass judgment on you. You should do the same.

Just so everyone knows the situation. A few years back at the West Coast Smackdown in San Diego. I lost to the Dave Pesce for the king seat of semi pro singles, and then came back to play him again in the final. Let me mention a couple of things. First, I hate it when people dont want to play finals. There's some poeple who are happy with splitting the money and being done. I'm not like that, I dont care some much about the money as I do about playing a final, especially against someone who beat me. Second, for years, it was all too common that some of the phoenix guys (mainly Nick), who always wanted to split and not play finals. Ask Trevor about this. Trevor hated this (he told me himself).

So getting back to the San Diego tournament. When I was ready to play Dave Pesce, he came up to me and said he wanted to split the money. I told him, I dont mind splitting the money but I want to play for the Jacket and the title (I'd never gotten a jacket, and like i said above, i dont like not playing finals). He said he didnt care for the Jacket cause he had a bunch. So i told him that if he doenst want to play then I'm taking the jacket and first place honors. He didnt care.

So I'm not going to go out on a forum and post that Dave didnt want to play me in the final! The way I see it, he forfeited the final. I had every intention of playing that final, so i'm not going to feel bad if someone chooses not to play it. It's not like it was going to take more than 45 minutes to finish it.

Billy, (Sponge Bob..lol)

If you did indeed post the comment above on a board, then you are a complete A-HOLE.

The difference between being a threat on the table and not being a threat is all in how you carry yourself and you should let your results speak for themselfs. 90% of the players in Az don't have the swagger or serious table time practicing to be in the 10% that are a threat. Zeke has Done this table time since i have known him, and he is always a threat on the table. This is the exact reason why I have stayed away from message boards and foosball for awhile now. The whinning and the " Oh Poor me" and " Bad attitudes " from the very players who do not put in the serious table time, but yet get upset when they are beat is so petty and stupid.

As for Dave & Zeke's finals..

C,mon, are you serious? We all know Dave does not give a crap about foosball, or playing in the finals. It took me awhile to understand how someone with so much God given talent would not care, but now i understand why he does what he does..HE WANTS TO HAVE FUN !! and that is the only reason i play every once in awhile now, FOR FUN!!

Now go practice, and shut up! Love you A-Holes!

Like Steve said you have put in your table time, unlike me, and you deserve more than anybody to be the "World Champion Semi Single". Congrats Zeke, well done.
This takes heart and dedication all I wish I could have myself but up to this day I could not commit.

I also have heard the San Diego story being told by some of the, as Steve mentioned, the AZ fooser haters...which did not include Billy at this time.

But Billy and of course Steve are very outspoken and voice their opinions openly which is commendable and annoying sometime, so its understandable that the haters version of this event had to come up one day smile.

San Diego is way in the past, long live the current World Champ...hats off Zeke

Steve: Yes, I did make that comment. And I would make it again. You know why? Because it is exactly true. If you have the mentality that you associate truth with being an asshole, then be proud of it. It's not for me.

More importantly, you REALLY should be aware of the entire context. You should read what Zeke posted before me, and then you should read my response VERY carefully to understand exactly what I said, and exactly what I meant. Ironically, if you can call someone a "complete A-HOLE" without even bothering to take the time to fully understand the entire context or meaning of what you are referencing, that would make you a complete A-HOLE, right?

Achim: "Hater"? It's pretty funny to listen to someone else tell you how you feel. It's funny because I have no bad feelings toward Zeke - he's been nothing but a good guy the whole time I've known him - yet, I am listening to someone tell me that I think otherwise. To me, that seems like more of a "hater". Do you agree?

And for what it's worth, I have no problem with Zeke's reply. What he wrote above is exactly the truth as well. And he filled in some of the blanks, which he has every right to do since people tend to fill them in themselves otherwise. If David did not want to play, that is not Zeke's problem, and he deserved the win. But, again, that never was my point, was it?

I made a very specific point with Zeke, which is not hard to gleen if you paid a little attention. I think that Zeke is the only one who actually did get it.

Btw, there is one more thing that should be made clear. When Zeke talked about me "bitching" or whatever, I know that his main intention was not to "pass judgment" on me. He was merely raising the point that those things can be discouraging to new players - regardless of the reason for them. Nonetheless, being a human being, I thought it was worthwhile to digress briefly and point out that things are often not as simple as they appear.
