I try very hard to make everyone happy, yet that is impossible. Meaning, I weigh the collective sentiments and make a decision, to the best of my ability, to promote the foos community. Obviously, this means that some people will be pissed off, while others will be pleased.
These things are not personal. So, please, do not make it personal with me...if possible. I understand it will go there, from time to time, but I typically get over that shit fairly rapidly.
However, what I do not understand, is when someone becomes unhappy yet refuses to hear the counter argument. Most of us are grown ass adults, myself aside, thus you should be more open to things changing from time to time.
It should not upset people so much if our pattern is disturbed. Shit, even having a pattern in foos seems a bit wrong, truth be told. Yet, I am typically the one that advocates for normality. So, if I change something, it is based upon a logical sentiment...even if the timing sucks ass.
I do not sit at home dreaming up ways to fuck with everyone (well, not in a nefarious manner at least!). And, I certainly NEVER sit anywhere thinking of ways to piss YOU off as an individual! This is a community, after all.
I have been heavily involved with foos for 30 years now...trust me, it is not as easy as some seem to believe.
I apologize for upsetting people, yet I am not sorry.
Figure it out! (that is a Letterkenny reference...not an asshole reference!)

I think you've done a killer job all along. As you say, it's not possible to always please everyone, and a lot of times I think it's good to just try things out. You never really know what kind of cool stuff can be done if you're afraid to try new things - and stuff can always be reset in the worst case. LOL. Anyway, good points here and well expressed. That alone is a good thing (good communication), as oftentimes people develop opinions on issues/circumstances that can sway significantly upon a better understanding of the reasons behind them.

Although you didn't exactly reference last night's event, I'm sure your post was a direct response. And if it wasn't, even more ironically, it would further showcase how bad your timing is. Be that as it may, MY comment IS in direct reference to last night. I didn't hear or see any "logical sentiment" behind what you did to that event. In fact, you refused to provide a reason when asked. So, to paraphrase/piggyback on Billy's comment about "good communication", because right now you have a whole bunch of people "developing opinions on issues/circumstances that could be swayed significantly upon a better understanding of the reasons behind them", would you please communicate with us "the reasons behind" why you changed the format to last night's event, mere hours before it was set to start? Finally, whomever you did listen to that ultimately convinced you to do what you did, I highly suggest you cut them from your inner circle when it comes to making decisions on behalf of this "community". Their influence over you is becoming comical. By that I mean, you did just fine fucking things up without their input ;-)

Actually, Bryan, I did tell you. I said in the text that I was "nagged" about it...and you called me a pushover. The reason was logical, Vegas is coming, and I was being asked to change the format (by multiple people). Plus, I was reminded that it has been the norm prior to Vegas for a few years now. I could not ignore that argument.
Furthermore, I am sorry that you feel that I have been fucking things up. I can step aside, if that is the common thought pattern. I am completely aware that I have been unfocused on foos as of late. I work too much. I have too much shit going on outside of work...and then there is foos on top of that.
As I said, I am trying very hard to make it all work. Currently, I go strait from work on Fridays to Duke's after a 10 hour shift. Then, on Saturdays, I am all too aware that I work at 7 am in the morning on Sunday. Shit ain't easy. Thankfully, I finally will be able to refocus on foos with my upcoming shift change.
That being said, if the general belief is that I am fucking things up, I can remove myself. I do not wish to cause harm to the foosball community.
