We've set the initial calendar for the tournaments at Stinger's. The tournament directors may revise it occasionally, but you can always see the current schedule/calendar for all AZ Foosball Events by visiting the "Tournaments" section.
NOTE THAT TONIGHT'S DEBUT EVENT IS A "ROTO DOUBLES DRAW-YOUR-PARTNER"!
This tournament works exactly like a DYP, except that each game is played as Roto-Doubles (where players switch positions when their team scores a goal).
1st Sat. of month: Roto-Doubles DYP (teams drawn at random, games played in Roto-Doubles fashion)
2nd Sat. of month: Draw-Your-Partner
3rd Sat. of month: Pick-Your-Partner (players drawn at random, player who is drawn may pick partner from remaining players)
4th Sat. of month: Hi-Low Draw (players grouped into high & low tiers, players matched at random from each tier)
5th Sat. of month: Bring-or-Draw (players can bring their own partner and pay higher entry fee, or draw their partner from the pool of players) edited by admin on 8/6/2011

Billy, is the hi-low draw going to be based on Chambie's local player points list? Or will it be the standard, "Hey, I know you..." list?
Just wondering,

"Standard"? It's never been done like that.
Dan F., J.B., and I kept the points on NetFoos for 2 years from the Main Street and Clicks tournaments. Beware the foosball grapevine.

Sorry Billy. The High-Lows designations that JB ran at Main Street were determined by how well JB knew your game, at least when I played. That's why I was in the "low" ranking whenever I played.
So I only went by my experiences. I did not know that there is a ranking list by which High-Low is always determined.
I didn't mean anything by that.

Casey that is why I used the points that they were keeping to make make up my points. I had the same problem at the last HI/LO that I ran. I would have used the same database however I did not have access to it until I had already put 15 or so tournaments in the new one. I will make it open to all tournament directors so they can use it if they wish. I do like the new one because it only has active local players in it the old one had many players that do not actively play here. However if any of them ever show I will use their points in Dan's DB as a starting point for them. On another note I have had a couple of players voice concerns about the possibility of Mary Moore using local points to help accurately rank players for her tournaments. This is something that they do not want so I am considering not posting the points any more but keeping the list semi-private so just our player base has access to it. I would like to hear more ideas and opinions on this subject.

Casey, to clarify, I only determined the high-low designations to players that did not have local points, after their first tournament, they would have been assigned starting points which then would increase/decrease based on performance in the DYPs. If you showed up at main st more than once or twice, you would have noticed that.

Also, to clarify- local points on netfoos are not applied at regional/national tournaments. You only earn points on VIFA or IFP by playing in the tournaments sponsored by them. So even if you're a local pro and play at a VIFA/IFP event for the first time, you would still be ranked as a rookie.
It's a hot topic though, since a few European/Canadian pro-masters (on tornado or different tables) have played in U.S. VIFA/IFP events for the first time, sandbagging US rookies (and even semis), which is another reason to have worldwide ITSF points to prevent the unfairness.
