2013 Arizona Foosball League
Official Launch Date:
April 9
As you may be aware, we've postponed the start date a couple of times already as we've attempted to add more teams. But there shall be no more delay! So hold onto your hat and get ready for another great season! Here is the schedule of league events leading up to the April 9 launch:

March 27 - INTERIM LEAGUE (Handicapped Draw) at Main St. Billiards, Mesa
April 3 - INTERIM LEAGUE FINAL (Roto Doubles DYP *AND* 1 on 1 Battle) at Cactus Moon, Mesa
April 9/10 - LEAGUE BEGINS

For those with a full roster, your team's official location, schedule, etc., will be announced shortly. For those that are still in need of partners, a league coordinator will be contacting you shortly to resolve your roster and get you ready for action!
...In the meantime:
Ø please ensure that your league fee is paid before the start of the season in order to obtain the 10% discount!
Ø if you have been contemplating playing in the league, NOW is the time to GET OFF THE FENCE and sign up!
Ø if you know anyone who may want to play but isn't signed up, give them a call and tell them this is their last chance. (Remember: if you sign up a new player, you get $20 off your league fee!)
Ø if you are on the League Sign-up Sheet but still looking for partner(s), check out the other available players to see if there's anyone you'd like to team with. Feel free to contact any player on the list who has provided his/her contact info.

2013 Interim League Final Event is this Wednesday, April 3rd at CACTUS MOON .
While it is true that all good things must come to an end, it also means that even better things will take their place! We have reached the final installment of the 2013 Winter Interim League, and we plan to make it a great one! The grand finale will feature TWO events:
Ø Roto Doubles Draw - DYP, league roto-style!
Ø 1 on 1 Battle - this is a singles event, but AZ FOOSBALL LEAGUE STYLE! At the start of each match, a coin will be tossed and the winner will be able to call any league 1 on 1 style game to be played for that match. (E.g., if you win the coin toss, you may choose to say "As I clearly tormented you all season long with my 3 bar, I hereby declare that we shall settle this match in the Forward Shootout style.")
Both events begin at the regular 7:00 pm start time. Due to time considerations, 1 on 1 Battle will be played as a single game to 10 in the loser's bracket and possibly the first 1 or 2 rounds of the winner's bracket (depending upon number of entries).
Also note that if you are in the running for one of the League Interim overall prizes, you can collect two separate event entries and collect points in both on this same day!

Great turnout. Brad and I apologize for the miscommunication with the bar pertaining to closing time, and for the events running a bit longer than anticipated (they could have been a bit smoother). But overall it was a great time and it was cool to see so many guys/gals getting fired up for the season debut next week! Congrats to the winners and some of the newer guys (esp. Holly!) for playing great Wednesday night!
