This was new event type and was a lot of fun! In this round robin format, each player plays a doubles game with every other player, and winners accumulate points. Top four teams play finals match.
The final matchup pits #1 & #4 vs. #2 & #3. In yesterday's tournament, Bill & Johnny played Tyler & Townsend in the final.

New league begins on April 25, and the last INTERIM LEAGUE event of this season will be this Wednesday, April 19, at Duke's.
The last event will be a SUPER ROTO BYP. Also, there will be a SPECIAL PRIZE for this finale: $20 BONUS to the player who scores the most goals from the pits! (Note: this is NOT a "Goalie's Delight" event - just a special bonus.)
Go get yourself a partner and have a good time closing out another fun interim season!

Well, we are almost at the end of the latest Phoenix Tour, and what an exciting finish we have in store! Following is a breakdown of what's on the line tomorrow...
GRAND CHAMPION (cash, tour jacket & tour hat):
With one event remaining, two players have a shot at the overall title and grand champion jacket. Rookie phenom Rick Weirman has played his heart out for 3 months and is on the verge of being the first amateur to win the overall title. He currently holds an 8 point lead over reigning and two-time champion Bryan Hendricks. Though he has to feel good about his point lead, the title has not been officially clinched as of Saturday night...
ROOKIE CHAMPION (tour jacket & tour hat):
Three players have a shot to win the rookie champion jacket - Rick Weirman (223 points), Tyler Troupe (141 points) and Ash Mirz (140 points). Note that even though Tyler and Ash cannot overtake Rick Weirman, they can still obtain the jacket if Rick wins the overall title (per the tour rules, if a rookie wins the overall title, the rookie title is deferred to the next highest placing rookie).
SHARPSHOOTER (tour hat):
Rissa Veloso is a heavy favorite to win this title, but Bryan Hendricks may still have a shot...
KING OF DUKE'S (tour hat):

The 3rd official Phoenix Tour has come to a close. This session was a lot of fun right to the end, when four players were still in the running for jackets. In the end, Rick Weirman managed to hold onto the reigns in the finale, and made Phoenix Tour history by becoming the first rookie player to don the coveted championship jacket!
(As you can see, a lot of people had their eye on that jacket...)

Rulon cannot currently handle the league stats, so if anyone would like to help with that it would be appreciated. It consists mainly of entering league results and generating league stats. It's not very difficult to do, as it is highly automated. Typically, I will award a free league entry to those who handle this task.
