Well, it's time again for the real thing!
There's been a slightly longer than usual break since the last season. You may have heard through the grapevine about a number of new developments in the pipeline. Well, you probably heard right! Here is a brief punch-list of what to expect:
* Two new locations, including Cactus Moon in Mesa.
* Probable 16-20 teams.
* At least six T-3000 tables (both new and upgraded).
* Professional sponsors contributing t-shirts, jackets, and additional prize money.
* New "Reserve Player" team option.
* Pay your league fees online.
* Access to full match and player results from all matches.
* Ability to affect player handicaps via weekly vote online!
A forthcoming e-mail will provide all the details of the upcoming features and changes. As you can see, the coordinators have been hard at work in bringing the Arizona Foosball League to the next level. But, alas, all this was done at a slight cost of time and there is one big task remaining that we are counting on you, the players, to help fulfill - we need to move at record pace in our signups this season in order to hit our start date of August 15th and avoid the holidays at playoff time!

The 2012 Summer Arizona Foosball League will officially begin on August 21 (Western Conference teams) & August 22 (Eastern Conference teams).
Players will soon receive an update with team & conference information, league schedule, and everything you will need to get started.
Please take a moment now to review or edit your league preferences by visiting the league sign up sheet .
If you are not yet aware of your fellow team members or your home base, do not panic! A league coordinator will contact you shortly to confirm your assignments, and to help you with any questions.
There’s a lot of new stuff in store this time around, so buckle in for the best AZ foosball league yet!

You can now view results and standings as they are updated live at the site, including the full score sheet for all matches! You can also comment on individual matches, etc.
Check it out by clicking the "Standings" menu item at the top of the leagues section. Simply highlight and click on a completed match to view the full results.

Feedback Wanted on Stinger's T-3000 Upgrade

Greetings, league players! We have some good news to announce, but we would like to hear your feedback on an issue.
NEWS: We are going to convert the two tables at Stinger's Sports Bar to T-3000.
We are considering doing this right away. However, given that Stinger's will be the site of FOOS BOWL X and the league championship matches (and since the 2012 league has been played on T2000), we wanted to hear from those players who may be participating in any championship matches in that event. If there is considerable opposition, we could delay the upgrade. One other point to consider, though, is that we may likely have a third table at the event which will be a T2000 - but you may not be guaranteed a particular table in any event.

With Foos Bowl X and the 2012 Summer League behind us, you may be feeling anxious about how to get your next foosball league fix. But do not despair, and get ready for some upcoming fun!
2012-2013 Interim League : This is an informal league event intended to provide action in between official league seasons, foster player communication and comradery, and introduce new players to the league (there are also cash prizes to play for!). The 2012 Summer Interim League was very popular, with a regular 20 or more players each week!
2013 Winter League : Sign-ups will begin shortly!
So, as you can see, the AZ Foosball League is far from quiet! We look forward to seeing you over the tables very soon! |

The 2013 Arizona State Championships needs a nick name, and we think YOU can do it!
The last several major regional tournaments we've had had cool names:
December 2005: AZ State Championships ====> "Desert Classic"
May 2007: AZ State Championships ====> "May Meltdown"
March 2012: Vegas Warm-up ====> "March Madness"
This time around, we are going to let the players pick the name! Submit your proposals here. Once we get some good suggestions, we'll put up a poll and have a vote for the winner!

Help Wanted for State Championships!

HELP WANTED for the following:
1. 2 people needed to help move two tables between Stingers and Cactus Moon (in and out) for the upcoming State Championships. Each person will receive 50% off a full package deal.
2. We are considering adding another one or two T3000 (or upgrades) to the event. If you have one and would be willing to contribute it for the weekend, contact Brad about arrangements and possible compensation.
