Just wanted to give props to Billy, Mike and whoever else helped run the tournament. No doubt, to me this was the best Phoenix or Tucson run tournament we've ever had. It was great having the 5 tables. Most importantly it was great actually starting fairly on time. Singles was pretty much winding in about 3 hours which was really cool. The best part about it was that people still seemed to be having fun playing pick up games since there were tables available, and there was even room to do an extra DYP! It was real cool to see the Albuquerque and El Paso foosers. That's hard core that they came out and definitely made the event more fun bringing more competition to this event. Also how nice is it to not be all rushed to have to finish certain events, and not have to play race to 7. The whole thing was done at around 12:45am, which is probably record time. This definitely makes it enjoyable to play. Good job guys.
Also want to give props to the Pinalyzer (aka the Wall-of-China-alzyer) for doing what he does best, bricking opposing forwards.

Great run tourney... other than paying out till 6th place ..but I guess I voiced my opinion on that!! For the future my vote is on pay out 1 through 3. Not more no matter how many signups. Sorry 4th place but you don't get more than a handshake. Keep the money together and more people from other states start thinking coming down since the prize money is high!! Great competition though, best I have seen in a long time here in Phoenix..next time get your butts down there David and Guy and sign up. -Joe

I think last time it paid to 5/6 as well. To tell you the truth I dont really care, and actually i think it's ok to give money back to 5/6 when you have 16 or more teams. I'm not really there for the money. I was more thrilled about how smooth the tournament ran, and the fact that we had a good level of competition all around. Good job on getting 3rd TJ and Joe.

For the future my vote is on pay out 1 through 3. Interesting how these comments always seem to come from someone who coincidentally landed in that spot. J/K
Anyhow, 5/6 paid $10/person, I think.
Also, there are arguments for paying deeper, as well. And I think the argument for paying only 1-3 would be much stronger if there were no money added. I think it was about right, and it's only a couple bucks difference anyhow, so no real biggie. edited by BillyBoy on 9/21/2009

Well this was by far one of the best Phoenix/Tuscon battles yet. Billy and Mike did a great job with everything, and yes TJ helped out to make sure matches were running. As for everyone that came from out of town, that was just plain sick, thanks everyone that showed up. Was great to play against some great players and teams. Zeke and John came prepared this time around, and I wish we could have given them the beating they both so richly deserve. The next time we meet I will make sure to bring the pain to you both. By the way you guys earned that win in doubles. Zeke the singles monster was fun to watch the singles final, great job on beating Daniel.

"When we get disagreed with, we just break bones" German Joe cautiously typed...
That's why America is soooooo great Joe! We have calcium supplements! At your age, your bones (hips in particular) can be as brittle as eggshells! Just take (trying to remember what Steve T said he was taking, darn it...) oh yeah-take 1 calcium supplement every day with your estrogen pill and you should be good as new!
switching to another subject- Xocoyotzin, you have a lot of f***ing nerve not being able to spell Tucson with a name like that. My caller id broke the first time you called, and you can't even spell Tucson. Jeez.
Doug-they played like shit, all they deserve is chili dogs and walruses, and no they weren't any fun. Next time they come we'll pay out to 16th place, right Billy? Let's see you get home on $10 (if you're from NM. If Tucson wins, then first place is a trophy that bears a striking resemblance to Johnny Valles-so striking that you have to feed it and give it a place to stay). edited by FATHERDEADBAR on 9/24/2009

This was the first Phoenix/Tucson event for me. Little too excited I guess and played like crap but it was great to see all these foosers that I haven't seen play. Got to give a shout out for those guys from New Mexico and Texas, Great showing!!! Next time I think I'll come prepared a little better since I got to bring home a table. From the showing I see I have a lot of practicing to do. Though I tell you getting 1 hour sleep and then moving those tables SUCKED BALLS!! LMAO
