Foosers -
As many of you know we are always trying to figure out ways to rate the players. One of the more tried and true systems is known as the ELO system. Back in the Cactus Moon days I used Netfoos to track player results and run events. I still have the data from over 100 events in that system. Well I have decided to use Netfoos again at Boulders, and one of the bonuses of using the software is that it has a very decent ELO system built into it.
Now this list is going to seem off to many of you but it is just a baseline list. It is based off all of the Cactus Moon events that are in the system and the first 4 events that we have run at Boulders. As you play, the system is designed to adjust to your results very quickly. I am quite sure a few players will be moving up the ranks in a hurry, as some of you have gotten much better since the Cactus Moon days.
I ran a list today and will be posting it here. I plan on updating it each month, but remember it only has the events from Boulders in it. We can't use loft results since that is a handicapped system and would skew the results. Ash I can use the results from your events but you need to send me pictures of completed brackets so I can enter each match.

Brad - How does this compare to the league ratings,1 - 10, which is what's used to determine handicaps and 12 and under tourneys etc.?

Bob - it is basically a ranking system, so the points really don't mean that much right now. After a couple of months we will start assigning ranks to the point ranges. For example we may say the following....
1400 and above = Pro 1399 - 1200 = expert
I hope to collect a bigger sample set before I do the first ratings. The reason for doing this is to have a good accurate ratings system for when we do the bigger events.
Hope that helps.
Brad
