Thanks for everyone for showing to this great event. I also want to thank John and Zeke for helping Jeremy and I run this huge event. Sense we did not finsh this event we are going to change the format next time. First we will drop the first event and then start singles an a hour earlyer hopfully this will help get this event done and keep us from having any race to 7. Here is a link to the results.

I think that having the first event a single elimination is a great idea. One other thing we tried with success was added more time between the singles and the BYP. The last Tucson BYP we ran 3 hours between single and the BYP and this helped out a lot. It was a smaller turn out but I think this helps because one of the biggest problem is conflicts. We started the singles at 5pm and the BYP at 8pm. |

The last Tucson vs Phoenix ran very late but only had 2 hours between singles and the BYP but the last Tucson BYP we finished at 11pm and that one had 3 hours between events. Now the turn outs were very different Tucson vs Phoenix (Singles = 22 BYP = 32) the last Tucson BYP (Singles = 9 BYP = 14). So I am not sure how much this will help but we almost finished the Singles before we even started the BYP this got rid of conflicts which is what held up the last Tucson vs Phoenix. The last 3 hours we only could use 1 to 2 tables because of conflicts. This also helps out the players that only want to play one event they don't have to wait as long. |
