Important Announcement for all Friday Tournaments

Hello Foosers -
After a great deal of debate and discussion we have decided to make a change to all Friday night tournaments. All events on Friday will now be a BYP format!
We will run a BYP with the following rules...
If a team wins two weeks in a row they are not allowed to play together for the next two weeks.
The highest placing Amateur or Beginner team will get 200% their entry fees back provided the following conditions are met'
- They do not place in the money (If a team does place in the money we will pay the next team provided there are at least three rook/beginner teams in the event)
- There are at least two am/beginner teams in the event.
- Entry Fees are as follows - Pro $10 - Expert $10 - Amateur $7 - Beginner $5
We will start with just normal BYP's but may consider other bring formats as this develops. Please let me know if you have any suggestions or ideas as I always want to hear them.
The Friday night events may also be changing to a new venue, please keep checking the site as this announcement should be coming in the next day or so.

Hello all Foosers,
All Friday night tournaments are now going to be held at Dukes Sports Bar! We finished moving the tables today and set them up for the Interim League Final tomorrow night. After that all events formally held at the Cactus Moon have moved about 5 minutes to the west @ Dukes. We have the four tables that were at the moon there as well as the table that has been there for years bringing the total to five. Duke is making some renovations to the back room that will make this room very foosball friendly! We have also ordered many new parts to get all five tables in tip top condition.
This Friday will be a BYP, as will all the future Friday night events, however I will be adding 100 additional dollars to the pot this Friday. All future events will have a three dollar add per registered player to the pot.

Arizona Foosers
In honor of our first Friday Night Tourney at Dukes We have decided on the following.
@ 7 PM Open Singles - 2/3 Double Elimination - $25 added to the event.
@ 8:30 PM Open Doubles - 2/3 Double Elimination - $100 added to the event/$150 if we get 15 or more teams.
Highest placing Amateur team wins $30 dollar bonus! Will have a playoff if teams are tied.
Will use local Netfoos points for ranking and seeding. Updated points from Friday Night events will be posted later this evening.

Great turnout, thanks to everyone for coming. Over $500 dollars given out in prize money. Jim King and Miles Johnson you were the highest placing amateur team but I forgot to pay you. I can either pay you when I see you again or your next three Friday night events at Dukes you will receive free entry.

Hey foosers first off thanks for all the support and a great start to the Friday night events at Dukes. Now that we have three weeks in we are planning a slight change in the format at Dukes Friday's.
We are going to now have singles every other week starting this Friday.
The format for singles will be as follows.
Starting Time 6:30 -
We are moving this up 30 minutes as the goal is to have singles done before the BYP begins. That way Steve Tellas may actually get to finish.
Entry Fee - Master/Pro $8 - Expert $6 - AM/Beginner $5
Format will depend on amount of players
16 or more players - Single elimination 3 out of 5 - Payout to 4th place - 1st 50% - 2nd - 30% - 3rd/4th - 10% each
15 - 10 players - Double elimination 2/3 Winners / 7-11 Losers till 4th place. Payout to 3rd place - 1st 60% - 2nd 30% - 3rd 10%
9 or less - Double elimination 2/3 Winners and Losers. Payout same as above.
Highest placing Am/Beg gets free entry in the next singles event at Dukes.
Pot will be 100% entry fees plus $2 per entry added.
The BYP will be run as follows
Starting time 8:30

If the 3rd place finish is less than $30 the monies from the Beg/Am winner will be added to 3rd place to ensure they get at least $30. The following is an actual example of how this works.
Am/Beginner payout example
Last week Jim K and Miles finished 3rd with a payout of $20. There was 4 Beg/Am teams. Age and Eric F finished 5th and should have gotten a payout of $30. However a team finishing 5th should not get more that a team finishing 3rd. So we would then take 10 from the 5th place team and give it to the 3rd place team. Therefore Jim and Miles would get $30 and Age and Eric F would get $20
In order for their to be a Beginner/Am payout a minimum of three teams must be signed up for the tournament.
Entry Fees are as follows - Pro $10 - Expert $10 - Amateur $7 - Beginner $5
Format - all games 2/3 both Winners and Losers
Payouts will be as follows - 100% entry fees plus $3 dollars per player added
12 or more teams - 1st 50% - 2nd 25% - 3rd 15% - 4th 10%
11 - 7 teams - 1st 55% - 2nd 30% - 3rd 15%
6 or less teams - 1st 65% - 2nd 35%
General items of note -
I just purchased new bearings and 36 new balls. Balls will be changed out and refurbished every three weeks.
Old bearings have been swapped out and rods have all been re-polished.
Starting times will be strictly enforced please be on time!

Zeke, Dozer, Banking Bill and Jeff A are all coming up from Tucson to play this Friday. With that said there will be a special open singles this week at 6:30 sharp. We had 16 last week and almost finished before doubles started. Hope to have another great turnout this week as well.

There will be three tables at the house one for general play and the other two for the big event. The party is an open invite to all local foosers, however the tournament will be run according to the following rules
Bash with Ash Foosball Spooktacular $1000 dollar DYP. Ash is sponsoring by adding 400 to the pot.
- 1st place $500 - 2nd $250 - 3rd $125 - 4th $75 (Prize structure dependent upon getting 12 teams)
- 12 Team Maximum. (May consider moving to 16 if enough interest)
- 40 dollars a player, includes table fee.
- Must RSVP with me in advance, Pros, experts, and touring players are given first consideration.
- RSVP plus 20 dollar down payment must be received by October 26th. No Refunds.
- Double elimination 2/3 in both sides of the bracket
- Event will start at 8:30 sharp.

King of the Ring Singles at Dukes!

Foosers -
As if we did not have enough going on, singles will now be every week at Dukes! Also we will have a singles points race, separate from the Phoenix Tour, that I am calling King of the Ring. Starting this Friday for the next 15 weeks I will be taking the dollar add to the pot and putting that aside each week. At the end of the 15 weeks I will take that money along with an additional 50 of my own, creating a sizable pot. The following outline the rules for the event...
1 - Points will work exactly the same as they do for the Phoneix Tour where participation will count as well as your result.
2 - At the end of the 15 weeks the top 6 players will be invited to a playoff for all the marbles.
3 - The playoff will start as a handicapped round robin single game. Pros must score 8, Experts 7, Amateurs 6, Beginners 5
4 - After the round robin the top two will square off in the finals, same handicap rules. However the finals are goalies delight, meaning if you score from the pits you get the ball in the pits to start the next point
5 - Winner gets 75% of the purse, 2nd gets 25%.
If we average 10 players over the next 15 weeks we are talking about a $200 dollar pot. Hope to see you all at Dukes.
