Rollerball Rules

Here are the rules for two ball rollerball. We are only playing 1 ball rollerball tomorrow however we will apply the rules as written for single ball situations.
31.3 Two-Ball Rollerball Two-Ball Rollerball is a specialty event that is played with two balls served simultaneously to begin play.
31.3.1 Time Limits - There is a ten second time limit per rod and the ball may not be pinned or stopped for more than one second. - If a ball is pinned or stopped for more than one full second with two balls in play, both balls shall be served again. If there is only one ball in play, it will be served by the opposing team. - A shot may be scored directly from a pinned or stopped position if done immediately and within the one second time limit.
31.3.2 Serving the Ball - If there is a serving hole present, each forward shall serve a ball through the hole on the count of three. Both balls should hit the playfield within one second of each other. - If no serving hole is present, both defensive players shall simultaneously release the ball from the near corner of the goalie area within one second of the count of three. - If a ball goes off the table without any goals being scored, both balls shall be served again. Otherwise, the team scored upon shall serve the remaining ball.
31.3.3 Scoring - If each team scores a goal, then neither team receives a point. Two balls are served again. - If a team has scored the first ball, they may stop play any time they have control of the second ball and take one point. If a team elects to take the point, two balls are served to begin the next point. - A team that scores both goals gets two points and two balls are served again to begin the next point. - A shot that goes "in and out" does not count as a goal scored in Two-Ball Rollerball and play shall continue. |

Just read those rules and my interpretation is exactly the same as my interpretation for the AFL rules. The AFL rules for 1 ball roller ball just say ITSF rules. The only possible difference is the stopped ball. I will go with the ITSF version. If a ball is pinned or stopped and then shot within the 1 second time limit it is good. |

Dukes Friday

OK since the scrimmages are cancelled this week I am going to add some incentive to Friday's event.
It is a BYP, however players rated AM or lower, 5.0 League rank, can play for only 5 dollars. Teams that are comprised of Am's or lower will compete for the prize of 30 - 50 dollars, depending on the number of these teams. This is a winner take all for these teams and the money will go to the top placing team in the tourney. If there is a tie the teams will play one game 7-11 for all the marbles. If a team that is Am or lower places in the money they can either take the tournament money or claim the other prize, which ever is greater.
Hope to see a great turnout Friday.

Beginners score 5 points, Amateurs score 6, Experts score 7 and Pro's score 8. If you are both the same rank games will be played to 5. Entry fee is 5 bucks. Doubles, which will start at 9PM, will be a byp/dyp (modified shake and bake) event. If you bring your partner you each pay 15 dollar entry fee and will be seeded. If you draw your partner you only pay 7 dollars and will not be seeded. Highest placing draw team, not in the money, will get an additional 20 bucks back. The doubles event will be goalies delight. A special dead-eye dick award of two free Dukes entries will be given to the individual that scores the most goals from the back, so make sure to keep track. Video and Live Streaming at Dukes this Friday

Hola Foosers -
I enter the new year with a new vigor and passion for my old flame, foosball. With that said I am ordering new balls and new bearings for the tables, hope to have them in the next couple of weeks.
Also in a new promotion I will be taking a dollar from every entry for all Dukes events and twice a year have a special tournament open to the players that show up to 60% of Dukes tournaments. Entries for this special DYP will be 10 dollars, all tables will be on free play and all the added dollars will be added to the pot, which according to my estimates should be between 450 to 600 dollars added.
This Friday Mr. Bryan Hendricks is planning on bringing down several cameras and tripods and he plans on taping and streaming as many matches as possible. This is a great way to learn about your game so come on down and take advantage of this great opportunity.
I am also in the planning stages of having a Vegas Warm-Up at Dukes on the weekend of Feb 17 - 19. Once I have it finalized I will post all of the details here. Hope to see you all foosing in 2017!
Respectfully,
Brad |

I am going to start using netfoos to post results as they show the entire bracket and have some other very cool functions like head to head stats, money earned, etc...
There is a history of about 126 tournaments in the database now and I hope that Billy at Stingers as well as Age at the loft start using it as well. The link is below.
