Foosers, sounds like we should have a good turnout tonight. If your on the fence make it out! If we get 10 teams or more I'll add an additional 50 bucks to the pot and pay out to 4th place.

Foosers - Here are the current ELO ratings.

You may notice that some of the rankings towards the bottom might seem a bit off to you. We have not done any ELO rankings since 2016. I have been doing it since we started up at boulders but the sample size is pretty small. The more you come out a play the more accurate your rating will become, as ELO ratings quickly adjust to match your results.

Also Jesse if you have any old completed brackets from Stingers give them to me and I can enter them into the system and it will help a great deal.

Jim D and Steve Taylor, if you send me pictures of the completed brackets from the Saturday night events I can enter them as well to get better ratings!

I can't use loft events as it is handicapped and it would skew the ratings.

New 2200 Limited Event This Friday at Boulders!

Foosers -

Due to the success of our 12 limited event a few weeks back at Boulders we decided to try it again with a 2200 limited using the new ELO points that I just posted yesterday. You can look at those ratings here...

http://arizonafoosball.com/Forums/JitBit/messages.aspx?TopicID=3945

It is a BYP event and you and your partner must be at 2200 or below to be eligible for the event. The ratings are new and a bit skewed espically for the lower ranked people so make sure to get your partner now!!! I will be adding 50 dollars to this event, hope to see a great crowd on Friday!

Respectfully,

Brad

People I am making a slight adjustment due to my error. Jeff Minning was listed twice at 895 and 861. I deleted the lower entry as his ranking is 895, a difference of 34 points. Because of this difference I am allowing a 34 point cushion for this event and this event only, meaning your team can have a max of 2234 points. I apologize for the error. I caught this error before anyone informed me, so no one bitched about it and I did not show preferential treatment towards anyone. I know how hard it can be to get partners for this event and I did not want to exclude a team due to my mistake. If you have any questions please let me know.

After talking to several of you I took a closer look at how to run the ELO points and think I found a good solution to start over just using Boulders results! I am able to start everyone with a base of 1000, and just run points using Boulders results. The following is what I got.

It is a bit skewed towards the top players as they typically team with each other for the BYP events, however I will also post a list with just the DYP events. Any positive feedback would be appreciated.

Boulders Bountygate Rules

chambie
chambie
Hey foosers

Boulders Bountygate started last week and here are the rules

It will take place twice a month during the Boulders DYP.

The first one was last Friday. I added 20 to the pot.

Date 10/4/19
Bounty Claimed - No
Carryover Pot $44.00

Rules -

To participate in Bountygate DYP you must pay an additional 3 dollars on top of your regular entry fee for the tournament.

The team with the highest Boulders ELO points is the Mark, meaning the bounty is on them. In order to claim the bounty you must eliminate the Mark from the tournament before the finals.

If the Mark wins the tournament they get 50% of the weekly bounty pot. i.e. if we have 10 players pay 3 dollars and the Mark wins the event they get an additional 15 dollars, the rest carries over.

To claim the bounty the Mark must be eliminated before the final round.

If the Mark makes the final round and loses the 50% of the weekly take goes to the team that beat the mark in the final.

There is no splitting or working out deals with opponents in an attempt to get the pot. An honest effort must be made by the all players. If it is discovered that a deal was worked out to split the pot between two teams, the pot will be withheld, the offending teams suspended from Boulders events for 30 days, and they will not be allowed in any special future promotions. Honesty and integrity and what make this work please give an honest effort.

If an individual is the Mark 4 times and wins all 4 events that they were the mark in that person wins the entire pot. Does not have to be consecutive just the first to 4 wins before the pot is claimed.

If you participate and your partner does not you get half the team winnings, the remainder carries over.

Additional rules may be added as the game progresses to ensure a fair and level playing field.

If you have any questions ease feel free to contact me.

King of the Ring Returns!!!

chambie
chambie
Greetings Foosers -

A few years ago we did the King of the Ring, here after KOTR, singles promotion at Cactus Moon.

We decided to start it up again as a co promotion with Badger Promotions and the Phoenix Pro Foos Club!

Starting this Friday at Boulders we will have our first event, open singles, that starts at 6 PM! It is only a $5 entry fee for all people, we will have the tables on free play till 8 PM and only charge a 3 dollar table fee!! Out of that 5 dollar entry fee 2 dollars will go to the KOTR final 12 weeks from now, I have posted the rules and details below....
  • Each week participants earn points just like the Phoenix Tour depending on their rank and place. I placed a link below to the old KOTR page that details the point awards and how everyone did last time.
  • The weekly events are just a regular singles event no handicap and they will be seeded.
  • $3 dollars of the $5 entry fee will go towards the weekly prize, the top Expert/Pro will split with the top Rookie/Amateur. If we have more than 8 players 2nd will get their entry fee back, more than 10 players and 3rd will also get their money back if they are not in the money.
  • $2 dollars of the entry fee will go towards the final. Both Badger Promotions and PPFC are each donating $50 dollars to the final.
  • Points will work exactly the same as they do for the Phoenix Tour where participation will count as well as your result.
  • At the end of the 12 weeks the top 6 players will be invited to a playoff for all the marbles.
  • The playoff will start as a handicapped round robin single game. Masters must score 9, Pros must score 8, Experts 7, Amateurs 6, Beginners 5
  • After the round robin the top two will square off in the finals, same handicap rules. However the finals are goalies delight, meaning if you score from the pits you get the ball in the pits to start the next point
  • Winner gets 60% of the purse, 2nd gets 30% and we will have a playoff with the rest of the players for the final 10%

Hope you decide to participate, it was a lot of fun last time around! So come out and sharpen up your singles skills and see if you have what it takes to be the king!!!

Respectfully,

Brad

Boulders Current Promos and Links!

chambie
chambie
Foosers -

As you are well aware Boulders has several promotions going on right now. Much of that info for these promotions is in multiple locations. I have taken the liberty of creating this post to put all of that information in one convenient location.

As additional information becomes available I will update this post!

Buckys Big Draw -

Here is the link to the spreadsheet that has all the results, player participation percentage, current pot values, and links to all the results so far!!

Additional news for the BBD -

We will be taking the top 16 - 20 players, participation wise to the final, they are highlighted in blue on the spreadsheet. The prorated entry fee schedule still applies.

New news!! The Bar is giving an additional 200 dollars to this event. To reward those who have come to Boulders at least once, and that have not qualified for the BBD, we will have an additional DYP right before the BBD. Entries will be 10 dollars a head and we will add $150 to the pot.

Bountygate -

Jim Dickson and Travis Hubred won the $64 bounty on 10/18. They took out the "mark" of Mike Sames and Eric Bork earning the first bounty. Bountygate will start new again with an opening bounty of 20 bucks for the next DYP. The Bountygate event information is on the Boulders Event Tracker spreadsheet. Look on the bottom for the Bountygate tab.

King of the Ring

KOTR information will be tracked on the Arizonafoosball website and on the Boulders Event Tracker spreadsheet. Current points and results will be on Arizonafoosball.com/KOTR. Current event pot value will be on the Boulders Event Tracker spreadsheet on the same tab as the Bountygate information.

Netfoos

We are using netfoos.com to track our results and calculate our ELO points. Additionally netfoos has some really cool features such as head to head match-up data so you can see how you fare against the competition. We have years of historical data in there so you may want to go in and check it out. Here is the link to our netfoos website. You may need to create an account to see the information.

ELO Ratings

I will have an ELO rating thread on the Arizonafoosball.com fourm and I will post ratings twice a month. I will pin the ratings on top of the Foos Rap fourm. All ratings will be based on Boulders events or any other current events that the promoters send me to enter it into the netfoos databasae. Unfortunately I can't use data from the Loft as it is a handicapped event and will skew these ratings.

There will eventually be three ratings - Overall Ratings - Doubles Ratings - Singles Ratings.

I am basing the ratings off of current data so it will take a bit of time to develop. We will be using this data for the rating of individuals for Boulders special promotions and events.
