Starting Events on Time

Easiest way to fix this is to start the tournament at 5pm, that way by the time everyone shows up, it'll be 8pm and it can start "on time" |

Why can't you start these things at 12pm instead of 3pm???? From what I hear, even with a lower turnout, the last Tucson event finished super late (3am was it?). In fact- ALL of these tournaments finish super late, so wouldn't a 12pm start time make more sense??!?!?!!?!? I don't believe for one minute that adding an extra hour between events helps a whole lot.

Why not start these things at 12pm anyway- if everything works like you guys think it should, we would be done by 9-10pm, that would be great for those guys who have to drive 2hrs to get home.
edit: IMHO, I don't think there's a big deal between a 12pm or 3pm start- your day is pretty much shot anyway, no matter how you look at it. edited by azrocket on 12/31/2008 |

This isn't a regular DYP- its a special event that happens every other month with 3 events and people traveling 2hrs to play..... if people will come at 3pm for these things, they'll come at 12pm.
Just my .000002 cents. |

Go to any sports store and look for replacement tennis handle wraps, they are the same thing (depending on brands, of course).
Picking out a brand you like will be trial and error, what works for some people may not work for others.

I haven't heard of anyone in PHX thats going to play. I'll be in Vegas (rock climbing at Red Rocks) that weekend but I won't be playing in the tournament (I might stop by and play some pickup games though). edited by azrocket on 2/26/2009 |

Far as I know Clicks is still the main venue in Phx.
FYI- The reason we played at the Sets last Saturday was due to Clicks being reserved for a private party.

Macpro13- what those guys said.
Don't let one player sour you on the whole Hi-Lo experience. I know who StoneCold and Fear are talking about- he's a OK guy, just highly competitive. Don't take it too seriously. Most foosers are pretty accommodating and will be happy to have you onboard.
We were all beginners once and have experienced the same thing. |
