Subject:Need Help Identifying manufacturer

Wow, that table looks really familiar. I know where it came from.

From Wikipedia:
Mirco Games was a pinball and arcade game manufacturer from Phoenix, Arizona that existed from 1969 to 1978. They were originally called Arizona Automation from 1969 to 1973 and then changed their name to Mirco in 1974 . They created the first microprocessor-based pinball table, Spirit of '76 in 1975. Also copyrighted the name Champion Soccer ( Foosball Table) First imported from Germany, then in 1971 started manufacturing their own.
.
Both the Mirco table and the Championship soccor tables were popular throughout the U.S. Southwestern and Central States. I learned all of my banking skills on those tables. The foot is/was plastic and flexed. It was wide and with that wide/flexible foot you can get some real power. I see in the photo that the playing surface is smooth. The foosballs that originally came with the table were the grippy plastic with no texture but after playing awhile it would have nicks and cuts all over it.

Wow, a trip down memory lane. Hope that helps.

Daniel, I don't think "prima nocture" means what you think it means.

I just wanted to bring something to your attention. I'm not really sure if you all have been aware of some of our newest players. I think you will find this remarkable:

Colton Dusenberry (previous league season's Most Improved Player) has been playing foosball for one year today.

One. Year.

I remember walking in the Peak's and Valley's bar and grill in Cave Creek meeting Colton. He was sitting at the bar completely unaware when the league was starting. When I told him "right now" he was surprised. When we got on the newly installed table and started batting the ball around I discovered his lack of skills. He has learned quickly and is determined to be a great player. That determination still shows as this season progresses.

He has come a long way quickly.

Joshua Radas has been playing foosball for one year today.

One. Year.

I remember Josh walking in the Peak's and Valley's bar and grill in Cave Creek not knowing what to expect. He introduced himself and told us Billy had told him to show up and play. When we got on the newly installed table and started batting the ball around I discovered his lack of skills. He has learned quickly and is determined to be a great player. Playing in the leagues this year with great teammates he has quickly learned new techniques and continues to show a solid foundation of the game.

He has come a long way quickly.

Results for Foosbowl, Interim League tourney soon

graykat777
Billy assured me just moments ago that he will have the results of the Foosbowl, interim league dyp, and league one-on-one available soon.

When Bill got to his car yesterday and twisted the key, he had a flash of just how good it would feel to drive and drive and drive. I can only imagine the stress of running the league and tending to so many tournaments and keeping up with table maintenance. He told me the he just had to get away. I'm not sure if he called me from California or Texas or Utah, he did not say. I just know that he's OK and asked me to post something for all to see and be assured that he is doing well and getting better.

Can any of us blame him? Are we not all in that frame of mind at one point in life? Don't we all deserve some down time? I understand only so well how complicated life can get and how stressful our obligations can be. I am just so happy that I am older and have so many difficult situations behind me. I have balance in life and I enjoy where I am at, in my own skin.

Nah, that's all crap. Billy hurt his back and is staying on the couch today.

Also, the last week of the tour will be known as "Comeback" week. On Monday through Thursday from December 7-10 there will be special free DYPs at each location, but players MUST QUALIFY for these special events. In order to qualify a player must not be currently in first place in the tour. I think these will be great fun!

This new twist sounds GREAT! Where can I play in these?

Bill, thanks so much for being creative!

So, when you say "play" are you wanting to form an occasional come-to-the-house meet and hack, or are you planning on leading a tournament or series of tournaments? Perhaps a league.

I'd pop by for some play. Couldn't be a part of your league. Just too far to drive.

It would need to be on a weekend, early, 2:00 or 3:00, so I could drive back to PHX that night. Paying for a room would be a deterrent.

Are there tables set somewhere there? I head up the hill often and would like to know where I might find a table (hopefully with a foos-playing crowd).

I haven't seen any tables up there for years. I remember that bar/n/grill on the west side surrounded by car dealerships. It had two tables.

Pickup games?

I am not aware of any locations where the locals are flocking to the tables to play, like in the early years. I miss that. One way we can have that back is to pick a day and all show up for pick-up games at that location. Also, if any of us are regulars at a particular sports bar, we could start talking foosball with the servers/bartenders/owners. Maybe we could create a movement to have tables all over the valley.
