Lets get a good turnout this week. I plan to bring my St. Louis DVDs. I have Zeke's SS win and my SD win and Zeke and I playing Rob Mares and Ryan Moore, plus some other scrub matches.
Anyone wanting to gamble on some singles can show up early. You win I pay your entry ($10), I win you pay me $5 if you have a lower league average (or Steve Tellas) or $10 if you have a higher league average.
I wil be there by 7pm.

That one is super weak. I love how they claim it wins most of its games. Crazy mode is just it spinning as fast as it can.
On the player side I would bash my hand on those boxes sticking out. It didn't seem to have any smart control, similar to kiro with a worse mechanical design. There was one out there that exhibited some ball control. |

We did singles since we only had 7 people to start.

A couple more showed up later, but then we still couldn't get more than 7 for doubles.

What is the date for the next challenge? I have people from at least 2 other states that want to know so they can plan to come. I am pretty sure there may also be people from 2 other states coming.
It would be awesome to get participation from 5 states at this next one.
Get it scheduled so we can get the word out.

John, if you shot 300 and you actually hit 2 towards the goal and a 3rd one in then your percentages are right on the money and it will be an epic battle. If you are lower than that it might just be boring. |

PS I took top billing because I was the only one that didn't want a split. I would have double dipped them.
PPS the tournament would have been done by 11:30 even without a split. It ran smooth with Jeff in charge and everyone playing right away. |

I think players shouldn't be rewarded for dumping a partner to pick up a different player as the odd man. If you go out in 2 you should get minimum points, not be rewarded for throwing matches and getting a second chance, just because there was a odd player. |

I thought it was changed so you could not use it during a time out. Only at the start of a point. Some jackass used to call time out on the 3 take the 4th point as a freebie and then score to win the game and everyone got butthurt.
It would be nice it you guys could keep these things straight and not be changing the rules all the time.

Actually I got that idea from the description on the coming events [more] link that says only at the start of a point. Just like I got the idea that you can use up to 2 point a game from Brad's post, but then at the tournament heard it stated that is only if you have 4 or more handicap, then that changed to 3 or more handicap.
Obviously it doesn't affect me because I already don't play because of these kinds of inconsistencies (among other things), but this is the kind of thing (inconsistency) that makes players not want to come back.

Brad, as we discussed at the tourney the take a point on a timeout is just too big of an advantage to better players playing with "beginners". That was demonstrated more than once last night and obviously discourages players from playing in these events. Either taking a free point should result in the opponents drop or it can only happen before a point starts. Those mitigate the advantage to good players but really don't impact lower ranked players.
There was a reason that the technical foul rule was changed so that a player can't score the technical then get another shot on the 3 bar. That double is just too much of an advantage. Allowing someone to call time out on the 3 when they are a high percentage shooter and take a free point then score a shot on the 3 is too much of an advantage. And the 3 point swing allowed last night is very unfair.

I hope we can get a good turnout for Boulders next Friday. We will have a visiting Pro Master Garret Scherkenbach. He will be in town and may be moving to the Phoenix area.
He is planning on attending the Friday tournament. Hopefully we can get a good turnout and show him some of the talent in the Valley.
