IFP Pro Tour Official Dress Code

New rules for the upcoming tour. These rules will be in effect for this year's World Championship tournament.
Shirts must be one of the following: Collard Shirt, Dress Shirt, Sporting Shirt, and Foos apparel.
Pro and Masters should have name and city and state on the front of the shirt.
Pants must be decent and clean and properly fitting not to show underwear. Jeans, Khaki, Sports attire, Cargo, and dress pants are allowed.
Shorts are allowed as long as in good taste.
Shoes must be worn at all times. Solid shoes or any shoe that straps to your foot is allowed.
Hats that are in good taste are allowed.
The last one is of particular importance for one of our local players. Ash will NOT be allowed to wear that 1940's Indiana Jones wannabe hat at the World Championship Tournament, due to it's complete and total lack of taste.I would recommend destroying it now to avoid the possibility of disqualification and the resulting humiliation at Worlds this year.

DYP Draws With An Odd Number Of Players

After last Friday's tournament, a DYP with an odd number of entries, it occurred to me that there should be policy in place for handling this prior to the start of the tournament and it should be added to the tournament info under Coming Events. The less surprises at the tournaments, the better. Having an X man in this situation seems to be the best option, but.....wtf do I know....I just don't like losing good players to simple misunderstandings.... |

Brad - I had a couple of questions about the singles ladder: How can the challenge be issued? Do it have to be in person or can it be by text / email / on the website with a post or...? When does the 7 day time limit for having the match begin? If someone wants to or has to wait (like someone living in Tucson for example), can the challenger challenge someone else in the meantime? Seems like there should be a mechanism for challenging someone if you are having trouble contacting them. Maybe have the option of challenging through the Arizona Foosball FB site. People would have to check the site on a regular basis to see if they have been challenged. Be interesting to see how this plays out....

Official Protest: Loft Event Should Start Fresh

"That's it! Nothing else changes, and there is no special prize money or anything like that. It's basically just for bragging rights and to add some more fun and drama into our already good time!" This was part of the notification regarding the new event. No money awarded. No prizes. Just bragging rights. This tourney is still a handicapped DYP roto event which means that any team can win on any given Sunday. At least 13 teams yesterday (3 July, 2022)....none of whom had any issue whatsoever with making the new event retroactive for 1 week. Everyone does have a chance to be the first repeating team. First....you have to PLAY IN THE TOURNAMENT. Kinda hard to win once, much less repeat, if you don't even bother to show up and play. Second....win with your partner. Third. Win again next week. Not really sure why this "Official Protest" was even posted.

Draw time was enforced. Next on the list would be enforcing the time out limit rule of 30 seconds. Calling timeout....multiple times....and then wandering around socializing, cleaning tables, ordering drinks, and keeping the entire tournament waiting is in the same exact category as not being on time for the draw. |

Interesting results. Teams with really strong players tied for last place. Teams #4 and #7 are....unusual....pairings....Looks like a great turnout and that the handicap system is alive and well.... |
