Matt, Welcome! Well, on the 24th (Friday) you can come down to the Dubliner for some pickup games. On Saturdays we have weekly draws at Clicks and on Mondays we have a hi-low draw in Mesa at Main Street Billiards. You can find the locations on the locations section of this forum.
Also, take a look at the "tournaments" page to see if we are having a special type of draw on that Saturday night. Somtimes we have a hi-low and sometimes we have a pick your partner. It's all great fun!

The Grand Champion was built by the Mirco company here in Phoenix. Back in the day they were all over the country. I haven't see one for a couple of decades. The men were like clown figures with weird smiles. The table was smooth and the foosballs were grippy. Great bankshots, great pins.
There really is not anything like it on the market that I am aware of. |

Dubliner last night

Friday night at the Dubliner (the "Dub") has been tremendous fun. Since the new year we have seen many folks come and play including Tim Hicks, Doug Steele (who was there last night), and Mark Procter who is getting back into foosball after a 15 year hiatus.
Last night Adrienne and I tried to fend off Tom Husband and a long-ago-player-now-Dub-local "Mike". We really didn't do a great job, but we pooled our quarters and had at them many times (with only slight interruptions from a couple of young locals). I ended up being thoroughly trounced. The locals had all left by the time Doug Steele showed up so Tom and Doug and I played singles.
It was great fun, sorry you missed it!

Zeke,
They are indeed different. The USTSA still has the serving through the serve hole, and ball-off-the-table is different. I'm not sure of any others yet. |

So the results include:
High marks for starting on time
Low marks for amount of money
High marks for quality of tables
Lots of comments about starting on time and keeping the tourneys from dragging out. |

I googled that address and get "4 Kings". Is NCSB in that building?
It's actually right across the street from Carlos O'Brians at 12th St and Northern. It's on the North side of the street. I've driven past that place a thousand times.

Cactus Moon and Main Street Billiards are both just east of Campus. Just East of the 101.
Sometimes on Fridays I'll drive over the 4peaks for a 'burger and a HopKnot then head on to Cactus Moon for the tourny. I hear now there are tournys at CM on Monday nights as well.
For just knocking around fun there seems to be very few places for pickup games. I'm out playing at the Dubliner in North Phoenix two or three nights a week, usually Sunday and Wednesday 'cause that's when Jerry the cook gets off work. He's a fooser.
Hope to see you out playing!
Most of us have our own tables so we just don't get out too much.
If anybody else knows of some places with local players chime in here, OK? |

I'm not aware of any organized Tues or Thur play. You might want to pop by one of the league events on Tuesdays. You can meet people and see some good foos action. Maybe get in some pickup games b4 and after the league play.
Tuesday nights are probably a West-side division of the leagues (normally west of I-17). Wednesdays were East-side last season. You can click on the "Leagues" nav button on the left side of this page to see more info.
Anybody else know of some foos action going on? |

DescriptionThis is the 5th of 16 tournaments in the AZ Foosball Summer Points Race. It is a combination Bring Your Partner/Draw Your Partner. BYP teams will pay 15 dollars each where DYP players will only pay 7 each. The top finishing DYP team will receive an additional 2 point bonus.
Players ranked in the top 4 of the point standings may not play together in the BYP.
