The Next Level
How do we reach our next level? Since leagues have started and we are playing more games now I feel that a good way to make progress is by simply asking your teammates what they see in your game (positive criticism). You may even think about asking your opponents! The people you trust can be part of your road to rising to the next level.
You have been shooting, clearing and blocking and should have some sort of idea of what needs to be better. Ask questions. Deep dive into the details. Are you setting up too far back or too far forward? Are you simply striking the ball to clear the goals or are you developing sure shots to get that nasty orange ball away from the goal? Are you passing from the five to a target on the three or are you simply satisfied with getting the ball through the opponent's five? Keep in mind that missing your target on the three means committing a turnover.
By the way, turnovers are bad.
Work on what's next by practice. Get the tools sharpened before relying on them in competition. Table time and repetition are key to reaching the next level. One step at a time leads to solid foundations.
