Pretty embarrassing showing by Tucson, starting with me. Need to fine tune my 3 bar since I shot horribly in all my matches this weekend.

Good job by the Phoenix teams kicking our ass, and to the A+ Hackers for taking 2nd (you know who you are hahaha, I'm definitely fearful of the second pass, shot, or whatever
that was you did). Think of this as a present and I guarantee you will all get violated next time.

Arizona sweeps semi events! Congrats to Mike Sames on winning Semi-pro doubles with Craig Hibbs at Nationals. I won semi singles. Mike and I also placed 5th in open doubles. I also got to the final of
handicapped mixed with Natasha Kraus, but we lost to Tom Yore and Dusty Bambenek. We beat a lot of great mixed teams like Terry Moore/Tiffany Moore, Ryan Moore/Stacey Fowler,
Tony Spreedman/Lisa Pride, plus others. I think i finished 7th in open singles. I was down 2-0 to Terry Moore, and came back and won the next 3 matches.

Again great job by Mike to take down the doubles title, and on winning a brand new table!

I've been facebooking with Joe for a few weeks now. He was asking me about Arizona. But it's not just Joe Hamilton that may move to Phoenix, it's also Natasha Kraus. Joe and Tasha are having a baby together, and
wanted to move phoenix. I was also suggesting Tucson wink I played with Tasha this weekend at Nationals, and she is an awesome player. She got second in Women's doubles (had king seat), won no-pro women's doubles,
and we got second in handicapped mixed. Her forward game is very good, and has a solid rollo. So Phoenix would get much stronger for sure.

Kinda of a sad situation. Can someone please post the name of the fooser that acted like a jerk on the hi-lo? Next time, please just let them leave and dont convince them to
play. If you are a top player, I dont care who you play with, your forward skills should still carry you. And if they dont, then that should be an indication for you to get better
and not blame your partner.

Please remember that foosball is a tiny community and acting like jerks to potentially new players wont help in growing the local player base.

I'm completely baffled TJ, because if the nickname is "2fast4u", I cant think of any phoenix player where such nickname would apply, unless of course it's meant as an oxymoron. Anyways, "2fast4u" sign with your name, I know I know you.

Well i wasnt sure if the friend got the highest rated fooser or the second highest rated fooser. I dont get why people dont just call it out. By the previous comments I gather that you guys are talking about Nick. If so, then it's
quite a shame that newbies who finally get the courage to play get such a bad impression of the best player there. To each his own, but that certainly wont encourage the player base to grow, which is part of the point of having
hi-lo's.

Also the Hi-lo is not meant for the better player to switch on every possession, how about trying to play some 5 bar defense. I dont mind switching on a 4-4 situation, but the point is to try to teach the newbies how to play.

Just wanted to thank Dan and Jeremy for this event. They chipped in a good amount of money and made a real cool event. I was pleasantly surprised to see
a good number of Phoenix players come down. Too bad Nick didnt make it, cause that would have made it tougher on Tucson for sure. Good showing by Phoenix
in the doubles category. I sucked in doubles (sorry pinalyzer). Chris and Jenn were playing awesome and definitely saved the day for Tucson. The final was pretty
entertaining. First set went 3 games but Chris was definitely on his game. He hardly missed a pass, and was shooting lights out. Second set, Chris and Jenn win
first game, and I really thought it was over only because of the way Chris was playing, and Eric and Chambie were switching trying to find something that worked.
But then they got in a groove, and won game two. Game 3 went point for point, and got down to meat nut. Chambie made a great block, but unfortunately after the block
the ball deflected off the wall and angled into the goal. Eric and Chambie played great all night.

In singles, I pulled a hard fought battle against Eric in the loser's bracket final. After Eric kicked my butt in the first game, and had me down 4-2 in the second, I came up
with some key blocks, and some steady playing, and won the second game 5-4. Then won the next game. So in the final against Chris, I was highly motivated, and being
disappointed about doubles, i was going to play my best. I won the first set in 3 games. And the second in 2.

Overall, I was proud of our Tucson players. Eric "Cry Baby", our young Tucson newbie sensation was playing real well. Lookout for this kid once he gets more experience.

On another note, I feel really bad for Corey and Austin who made the drive from El Paso, only to have Mainstreet (aka The Buzz Killers), say that they were kicking out anyone
under 21 by 5pm. So they didnt get too play. Corey and Austin you guys were great sports about the whole thing, and if I didnt have family staying over this past weekend
I would have left the tournament with you guys and had you come over to my house and played foos there. That's a load of crap.

My only suggestion is for Dan to talk to the owner and find out the exact ground rules, and also to try to work something out with the owner if possible ahead of time. This way
you guys dont waste your time driving 5 hours so not be allowed to play. Also, Dan I suggest that for the next tournament you add a note on the flyer or tournament announcement
that typically it's 21 and over.

You're never going to get better if you dont see the flaws in your game. I'm very surprised that nobody has really ever asked me anything about how to become a better singles player. I have absolutely
no problem helping anybody get better because that makes me better and raises the level of our local scene.

I collected $130. Thank you for asking smile I do like the Pinalyzer's answer better, same as you in doubles. I wouldnt be so proud,
you needed two slopped in goals to beat us, and then went out the next match!

Corey,

It's wide open for you. I hope you do take it. Valley doesnt want me to play semi singles. So they will allow me to buy a semi pro package and they'll instead let me play pro singles. So i'm done with semi singles.
Also, dont worry, I can be nice and still kick your ass in singles LOL

BTW Who are you playing with in semi doubles?

It was a lot closer. Imagine if Eric and Chambie dont get double dipped (meat nut 3rd game, second set). And imagine i dont pull the miraculous 4-2 comeback on Eric (already down 1 game)

Eric/Chambie Dont get double dipped

Tucson $330
Phoenix $260

and Without Zeke's comeback (assuming eric got 2nd)

Tucson $290
Phoenix $300

So it was two big turn of events that made it lopsided, but it was that close.

Pinalyzer,

Sorry that type of information is highly confidential, if i tell you, i have to kill you. smile

When you bend the rod from the push side, you get a faster short and better stationary slicer. It's also easier to shoot that short. It also
adds more power to that particular shot.

To me, bending the rod a bit on the push side is more about helping hit the hole rather than power. most people cant get a tight short push shot
and typically end up hitting the second guy on the 5. With this technique you can hit right inside that guy and if the guy on the 3 rod cheats, you
can always do the slicer.

AZ foosers. Who is planning on going to worlds?

I'll be attending. So far I only know about one other Tucson fooser that said he was going, and that would be Eric.
