To all: Had an idea I wanna propose for foos tournaments - DYP Foos Madness! Alternating Fridays are DYP @ Duke's and would make this more fun and challenging for all so I'll use that as an example.

Instead of $8 for all players, make it $10 for all players. $8 still goes to the tournament prize pool and the $2 extra per player goes to a pool divided among the players who have the "most correct filled bracket". Think NCAA March Madness. BYP are easier to calculate winners and losers so I say DYP to make it more challenging and fun.

Last week was a draw, 10 teams, 20 players, would be a $40 pool. Maybe a bunch of people just win their two bucks back and maybe a few people share the $40.

Billy has expressed the idea of players/fans having the ability to 'bet' on matches with me before. I love that idea and think this could be a simple way to start seeing the interest in 'gambling' with foosball. Every other godamn sport people bet on, why not us?

Consider the possibility of players staying later to watch the outcome of the tourney to see if they won some of that extra cash. People stay longer, buy more drinks, Duke's is happier.

Also, imagine the interactivity among players as they try to figure who can win. Players watching more matches because they have a vested interest. Newer players might have a desire to attend more events so they know the players and thusly be able to pick more accurately based on the combined skill level of the teams in a DYP.

Would love to see some interest in this or something like it. Hate it or love it, leave an opinion!

I love it! And I also love the way you have considered ways it could affect turnout and the overall environment.

Yeah, I have thought about coding up support for something like that, but realistically would be sometime down the road. Plus, running it online could involve some potential legal issues. In the meantime, oughta be simple enough to do manually if somebody wanted to own it and manage it!

Cool idea Bryan! Maybe we can try it out one of these weeks and you can run it to show how it works. Afterwards we can get feedback from those who've participated and tweak it into something awesome that might help accomplish all of the benefits you listed above smile
