As with all points lists this is certain to cause a stir. Bill and I did the best we could and used the ELO system on net foos combined with the league points to come up with this list. As always there is going to be some players on the fence that we have to make a decision on. If you have any concerns about your rank please let Bill or I know and we can discuss it.

This list by no means represents your ranking on the tour as it is just based on local results in our events.

Brad - There is one person on the list that is completely wrong as far as their rating. Adrienne is Not a beginner. She plays a style that is very much a beginner type of play but, that being said, she should not be rated as a beginner any more. Those days are long past. Her stats are: She has played in 475 ( That's right... Four Hundred and Seventy Five ) tournaments since 2009. She has 47 @ 1st place finishes, 48 @ 2nd place finishes, 64 @ 3rd place finishes, and 56 @ 4th place finishes. She was also the first Phoenix Tour winner in the Amateur Division for the inaugural season. It's time for her to learn ball control, passing, and a shot. But Not to reward her with beginner points because she refuses to play a different style. Just my two cents worth...

Good points. I agree with much of your assessment, and Adrienne is certainly near the beg/am border. Other close calls are Rick Weirman and Travis Hubred. But as Brad pointed out, no matter where you draw the line there will always be players on the edge. Indeed, it's often more a matter on where you decide that line should be than who outranks who.

It's good to hear thoughts on this stuff and hopefully such things will help resolve the tough ones. Believe it or not, there are some counterarguments that aren't always obvious but are nonetheless significant. E. G., most of her success has been in handicapped or hi-low type events. I'm confident that if she played you (currently listed as amateur) straight up a bunch of times, she would rarely defeat you. And btw, you are another player on the border; one could argue convincingly that you are expert. One of the things we tend to do is not move a player that is on the fence until it is an obvious case.

Mainly I'm just making the point that there are many factors that come into play, and for a certain number of players, it will come down to some kind of subjective call or consensus. So because of the nature of these things I think it's more efficient to discuss them verbally with all the TDs, etc. If you have the time to do that with Brad, me, Gary, Bryan, etc. I welcome it, and maybe we can make some tweaks.. . smile

I'm pretty sure Bob drew those numbers out of his ass, lol, But I second his point, Adrienne should be moved up to permanent rookie/hacker status.
