Indeed! ;)

What's the playoff format going to look like now with 3 divisions?
Rick Rivlin7/10 6:36pm
Top 2 in each division 6 teams....best 2 records get 1st round bye. Likely the same for individual categories
BillyBoy7/11 12:21am
What Rick said is a good possibility. However, the coordinators are planning on talking it over and making an official decision in the near future. Feel free to text your suggestions to Rick or Michael in the meantime!

Is there prejudice against the Northern Conference? I never thought I'd see such exclusion in 2025 - sad really
MKCarey7/21 6:01pm
There are several options currently on the table for playoff brackets, including 6-team, 7-team, 8-team, 9-team, and 12-team variants. Along with that, seeding based on inter-conference record is being considered if two teams play each other in the playoffs, rather than overall record. This will give a little more weight to inter-conference matchups. Nothing is set in stone, yet, but we hope to have something in place very soon.
BillyBoy7/23 10:12am
I need to add a feature for team captains to block public viewing of a match result. :)
Steve Taylor7/23 12:00pm
After your recent loss to the Kartel I don’t blame you for wanting to hide match results.
chambie7/24 8:36pm
Since divisions are already set and play has begun, the playoff formatreally should be determined now. I would be strongly against more than half the teams in the league making the playoffs. The regular season needs to have some sort of purpose besides individual accolades. How many teams have made the playoffs in prior years?
BillyBoy7/25 2:17pm
Yep, needs to be up pronto! I agree about less than half of teams making playoffs, and historically it's always been that way (last season it was the top 3 teams in 7-team conferences). That said, in recent seasons I've tried to be a bit less of a dictator; we have a few coordinators now, and often we put these things to a vote amongst them. Michael Carey is in charge of resolving it for this season and he should have that done soon.

Playoff format for individual titles has been set; just need the team format decided. :)
Rick Rivlin7/28 3:16am
7 Teams will make the playoffs. Top 2 teams from each conference and the 7th team, the last playoff spot will be the top winning percentage team of the 3rd place teams. The team with the highest winning percentage #1 seed will get a first round bye. We are reviewing the current tiebreaker order and playoff seeding order. All details will be finalized this week.

Pinnacles & Playoffs

This season's leagues are coming to a close, and coming to a pinnacle of playoff action! There are a number of factors that will determine wild cards and individual categories. Just for the record, great season everybody! I, as an involved spectator, have watched many exciting matches and watched many players excel, some way above their ratings and showing some big potential.

Speaking of potential, let's look at some players! Ever since the "sandbagger" category was created we have never had a whole team place 1,2, and 3. But this season three Motley Foos teammates, Steve Taylor, Anthony Laube, and Rick Rivlin occupy the top three slots on the list! (What is their secret?!). We also have veteran first-time-league-player Nick Bourdos vying for several individual awards. And who is Rolf Criddle? I remember just two years ago teaching him the "start protocol", and already Rolf is tearing it up! 2nd in League Stud in his division, leading Doubles and Forward Shoot Out, and stands a chance in Rollerball. Wow! And Rolfe has brought a new player into the fold as well!

Good job!

I feel that each of us should be an involved spectator. Go to the matches when you can. See the magic! Root for your favorites! Scope out your next teammate! Encourage your non-foosball friends to attend. Pass on your excitement to all new soon-to-be recruits. More players means more fun, more excitement, more rewards.

See you at the playoffs!

The 2025 Arizona Foosball League started on July 8, but sign-ups are still open! The league is open to all players, regardless of experience level (must be 21 or older). The season runs 16 weeks, and the cost is $50 for the season (10% off for early registration). For more details on how the league works, check out the FAQ.

Q: THE LEAGUE IS IN PROGRESS! CAN I STILL JOIN?

A:  Yes, indeed!  Although the league is in full swing, there are often teams looking to shore up their rosters with teammates and reserve players, and substitute players (you can jump in the ring to help out a team when a player cannot make it to the match) are always in high demand as well.  Just add your name to the list below by clicking the JOIN! link on the top menu, and we'll see you on the tables!
